The stART smART Network Program services began in August 2003. Since that time, we have accomplished the following.

• More than 150 preschool and kindergarten teachers have received technical training.

• More than 60 artists have received technical training.

• More than 80 artists and teachers have received cross training in the arts through workshops and prep clinics in all three program sites.

• 45 preschool and kindergarten teachers have received training on using music in the classroom in a developmentally appropriate way that encourages emergent literacy skills.

• 24 preschool and kindergarten teachers have received training on using music in the classroom in a developmentally appropriate way that encourages emergent literacy skills.

• The music program is being replicated in the Delta Region.

• The dance program is being replicated in the DC Metro Area.
